Venue: The Impact Zone (Orlando, FL)

Commentators: Mike Tenay & Taz

The feud between Gunner and James Storm (possibly) reached its conclusion this week on IMPACT Wrestling as the two former friends faced off in an “Anything Goes” match to settle their dispute. Also on the show MVP made an announcement about the next World Title defense, champ Magnus teamed with associate Abyss to take on The WolvesVelvet Sky questioned Angelina Love about her attack of Madison Rayne the week before, and the duo of Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud took to the woods to find the (charismatic) enigmatic Willow.

Results and notes come courtesy of James Caldwell‘s live recap/analysis over at PWTorch.

MATCH RESULTS/NOTES

1. The Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) defeated *TNA World Heavyweight Champion* Magnus & Abyss when Edwards made Magnus tap to the single-leg Boston Crab (8:38).

  • Post-Match: Abyss took Magnus’ belt and walked off with it, leaving the champ confused and increasing tension between the two.

2. Non-Title Match: Angelina Love defeated *TNA Knockouts Champion* Madison Rayne via pinfall (5:15).

  • Before the Match: Earlier in the show Velvet Sky confronted Love in the ring about her attack on Rayne, and Love told her to “pick a side” during the match later on.
  • Notes: Sky DDTed Rayne while the ref was distracting, reunting two of the Beautiful People members for real and giving Love the win.
  • Post-Match: Love taunted Rayne, as did Sky but the latter didn’t seem all that enthusiastic with it.

3. Samoa Joe defeated Eric Young via TKO with the Rear-Naked Choke (5:48).

  • Post-Match: Joe’s shoulders were on the mat as he choked Young out, so Earl Hebner came out and talked to the other ref, his son Brian Hebner, about what had happened. Nothing came of it though.

4. Falls Count Anywhere Anything Goes Match: Gunner defeated James Storm via pinfall after smashing a beer bottle over his head (13:58).

SEGMENTS/OTHER NOTES

-The show opened with MVP who called Abyss out to the ring and said he wanted an even playing field in TNA going forward. He then hinted at an executive decision but before he could make it World Champ Magnus interrupted. MVP created some friction by asking Abyss if he wanted a title match. He then said that Abyss would get said match, but with Samoa Joe tossed in. Magnus Vs. Joe Vs. Abyss for the World Title was made official for next week, which brought Joe out. A brawl ensued and out came Eric Young to break it up. EY made a plea to be entered in the match, citing his decade with the company, and MVP added him in making next week’s title match a four-way. It didn’t sit right with Joe and the two were signed to face off later in the night.

-The big through story this week concerned Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud looking for Willow in the woods. Spud was eventually taken and in the final segment of the show EC3 found him lying in a bed. Willow then attacked EC3 and vanished, EC3 saying it was “game on” for next week.

Bully Ray came out to the ring and had a host of people place tables around it. He launched into a tirade that was interrupted by Bobby Roode, who said he wasn’t intimidated. Ray challenged him to fight tonight but Roode didn’t want to so Ray ran down the entrance aisle to meet him. A brawl ensued, eventually ending with Ray going through two different tables.

-A series of vignettes followed Knux as he tried to make amends at home.

Kenny King popped up to talk with MVP, who said he had something for the “King of the Night” next week.

-A piece of footage taped after last week’s IMPACT aired of Samuel Shaw cornering Christy Hemme and taking some of her hair. Hemme rightfully freaked out and it was announced that Shaw was suspended for a week due to these actions.

-Announced for next week’s show: Magnus Vs. Joe Vs. Young Vs. Abyss for the TNA World Title, Bully Ray & Willow Vs. Bobby Roode & Ethan Carter III in a Tables Match, and Mr. Anderson Vs. Samuel Shaw in a Straight Jacket Match.
