Jerome’s WWE SUPERSTARS Recap + Review: O’Neil vs. Show and Swagger vs. Rhodes

wwe superstars logo

Commentators: Tom Phillips & Byron Saxton

This week on WWE SUPERSTARS The Big Show goes one-on-one with Titus O’Neil. In addition, Cody Rhodes takes on Jack Swagger

Match Results

  1. The Big Show defeated Titus O’Neil via pinfall with a chokeslam (4:30). [*]
  2. Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Coulter) defeated Cody Rhodes (w/Goldust) by submission with the Patriot Lock. (10:00 shown). [**3/4]

News + Notes

  • Show shrugged off O’Neil’s offense and did his finisher to get the win. Great way to build a heel up there WWE.
  • Neither Goldust or Coulter got involved in the match except for a brief staredown before the commercial breakdown. Other then that, this was a nice clean win for Swagger. losing streak continues as the slow build (and when there’s 18 hours of television man is it slow) to a break-up of the brothers.

REVIEW

The Matches

  • THE BIG SHOW VS. TITUS O’NEIL: Big Show does offense. O’Neil gets the advantage… and applies a chinlock. Later on, we saw a sleeper. It was that kind of match. Not exactly enthralling action anyway you slice it.. O’Neill was getting a push, and now he’s losing to Show on Superstars. No wonder people have zero confidence in WWE’s ability to make new stars. They’re the masters of stop and start. (*)
  • CODY RHODES VS. JACK SWAGGER: Crowd ended up cheering more for Swagger than Rhodes which is odd given Swagger and Coulter… HATE FOREIGNERS! Some decent enough action and a clean finish make me a happy human. Goldust being Cody’s cheerleader was incredible. He was the best babyface in wrestling just standing outside, cheering his brother. (**3/4)

Overall Thoughts

  • You can basically watch this show in 15 minute if you’ve seen Raw already. If not, then at least you can see the most important parts of the show. Might actually be worth it given how much of a chore three hours is. Rhodes and Swagger was pretty okay and worth a watch.

Hey sexy and unsexy friends, my name is Ian Price and I’ll be your guide through the mysterious jungle of love known as NXT. I took some time off to get fucked by life but now I’m back to get fucked by your tute and NXT. I’m switching things up a little for the sake of variety and also because I’m only typing with 7 fingers thanks to a neat event at work that we’ll call “What Does The Chainsaw Say?” Less play-by-play, more live ass shit-talking. This week, a bunch of shit happened between people that are entertaining athletes!
